Storing peptides in Philippine heat
Most of the Philippines sits between 26 and 34°C for much of the year, with high humidity and the odd brownout. Here is what that means for peptide vials, sealed and mixed, and what to do when things go wrong.
Sealed powder: fridge, or freezer for long storage. Mixed solution: fridge only, never frozen, away from the door. Keep vials out of the sun and away from humidity, and get a delivery into the fridge within the hour.
Sealed, freeze-dried vials
Peptides are shipped as a freeze-dried powder, sometimes called a cake. In that state they are fairly robust. Heat, light and moisture are what degrade them over time.
- Short term: the fridge is fine.
- Long term: the freezer, in a sealed bag with a desiccant if you have one.
- Avoid: window sills, cars, bathroom cabinets and the fridge door, where temperature swings most.
Mixed (reconstituted) vials
Once a vial is mixed with bacteriostatic water it is far more sensitive. Keep it in the main body of the fridge, not the door, and do not freeze it. Label it with the date it was mixed.

Brownouts
- Keep the fridge closed. A full, closed fridge holds its temperature for hours.
- For long outages, move vials into a small cooler with ice packs.
- A cheap fridge thermometer tells you if a brownout warmed things up.
If a parcel arrives warm
Do not panic. A sealed vial of powder that spent a day or two in a courier network is usually fine. Put it straight in the fridge. Look at the cake: it should be intact and a consistent colour (GHK-Cu is blue; most others are white).

Travel within the Philippines

Do peptides need to be refrigerated?
Sealed freeze-dried vials keep best in the fridge or freezer for long storage. Once mixed with bacteriostatic water, a vial belongs in the fridge (about 2 to 8°C) and should not be frozen.
My peptides arrived warm. Are they ruined?
Probably not, if the vials are sealed powder and the trip was a day or two. Freeze-dried peptides are fairly stable for short periods at room temperature. Put them in the fridge and check for anything unusual, such as a collapsed or discoloured cake.
What if there is a brownout?
Keep the fridge door shut. A closed fridge stays cold for hours. For long outages, move vials to a cooler with ice packs.
Can I travel with peptides in the Philippines?
