What it is on the research record
BPC-157 is a synthetic 15 amino acid sequence taken from a larger protein found in human gastric juice. Most of what is published about it comes from one research group in Croatia and from animal models of tendon, ligament, muscle and gut injury.
Human data is thin. There are very few published controlled trials in people, and the reviews that exist say so plainly. The popularity of BPC-157 in gyms and online forums is far ahead of the evidence.
BPC-157 is named on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list, so it matters to anyone who competes in tested sport.
